How I Work
Straightforward Advocacy, Personalized Support
Every case is different — but my approach is always the same: listen deeply, strategize clearly, and advocate relentlessly. Whether we’re preparing for an IEP meeting, challenging a CVRC decision, or navigating a due process complaint, I tailor my support to your goals, your child’s needs, and the specific obstacles in your path.
1. I start by listening.
Before we talk about laws or forms, I want to hear your story. What’s happening with your child? What have you been told? What’s been denied, delayed, or misunderstood? I create a space where you don’t have to “know all the right terms” — you just have to be honest.
2. I explain your rights — in plain language.
Once I understand your situation, I explain where the law supports you, where it’s being violated, and what your options are. I break down complex regulations and policies into clear, actionable steps. No legal jargon, no pressure — just clarity.
3. We make a plan — together.
I don’t hand you a checklist and disappear. I work with you to create a strategy that fits your situation, timeline, and comfort level. That could mean reviewing an IEP line by line, drafting requests to the district, representing you in a manifestation determination, or preparing a formal due process claim.
4. I advocate firmly — and respectfully.
Districts and regional centers don’t always respond to anger or volume. They respond to preparation, legal backing, and persistent follow-up. I bring all three. I speak their language, know their tactics, and use evidence to hold them accountable — always while keeping your child’s well-being at the center.
5. I build your confidence as we go.
This isn’t just about fixing one issue — it’s about empowering you for the long haul. I’ll teach you how to recognize red flags, ask the right questions in IEPs, document your concerns, and advocate effectively long after our work together is done.
